RPI’s Elevating Stages combine precision Horizontal and Vertical Translations controlled by pre-loaded linear bearings and ballscrews giving horizontal movement of 180mm, vertical movement of 120mm with a resolution of 1 µm or better.

Axes can be driven via stepper motors or servomotors and fitted with linear encoders. Mechanical limit switches are fitted at the extents of the travel with all cables terminated with suitable connectors for connection to your control system.

High precision granite elements have been selected for the construction of The Elevating Stage for its inherent damping qualities that minimise the transmission of any vibration to any test equipment.

This stage has been developed to significantly improve stability compared to similar systems incorporating jack screws.

Stages are supported on five wedge type-levelling jacks for initial levelling of the unit during installation.
