RPI extends global scope with new USA distributor Wyvern

RPI, the world’s leading specialist developer and manufacturer of precision positioning devices for high accuracy rotary and angular inspection systems, has extended its global reach by appointing five new distributors, including Wyvern Industrial Technology LLC in the USA and is looking for more.

Wyvern, RPI’s new distributor in the USA, provides systems, solutions and services to a wide range of companies that rely on high performance rotary geometry systems. It is marketing RPI’s full product range and is also responsible for after-sales service.

RPI products deliver high load, rotational accuracy and precision for several markets, specifically; aerospace, gas turbines, CMM, calibration and standards labs, universities, optics, scientific research, navigation and guidance systems, encoders, hirth couplings and precision gears.

Through using RPI’s products, customers not only gain accuracy but also increased throughput, reduced return to suppliers, and with better assembled engines, an increased fuel efficiency and reduced engine vibration. As well as the added benefit of longer service intervals.

RPI’s rotary and angular inspection systems fall into four product families: iMAP, GeoInspec, Calibration and Quadrant – RPI’s new range for CMM rotary tables.

Jim Palmer, RPI’s Sales Manager, said: “We welcome Wyvern as an expert partner in our continued drive to increase our exports. RPI already has a significant presence in a number of countries and Wyvern will build our presence in the US.”

John Kane, Wyvern’s President, said: “We look forward to building on our close relationship with RPI in order to provide the best precision positioning devices in the world. These are a fantastic range of products and I am sure they will help to increase the accuracy and efficiency of US manufacturers of turbines and aircraft engines.”

Bath-based RPI is exhibiting at the ASME Turbo Expo in North Carolina, US in June at Stand 1004.

RPI grew out of acquisitions from Airmatic, Optical Measuring Tools, and Eimeldingen.  Since the 1940s, it has been one of the world’s largest designers and manufacturers of precision rotary tables and a leading supplier of rotary tables to the aerospace, automotive, power generation, machine tool, scientific and general engineering industries.
